Shop / franklin sensors stud finder
Whether you're hanging pictures, putting up a new set of shelves, or getting ready to start an addition, knowing the location of the studs in a wall can be extremely useful. A good stud finder can make the difference between a successful DIY home project and a disaster. This is why a stud finder is an important tool.
The FOLAI stud finder uses UPGRADED SMART SENSORS that can detect changes in density behind the wall and locate the center of the stud with great accuracy. This means you won't have to worry about drilling multiple error holes in the wall when installing a TV bracket, shelf unit, or even just a set of coat hooks.
The wall detector features a large LCD display, an ergonomic design, and multi-sense technology for accurate detection of both metal and wooden studs. It can also detect live wiring up to two inches into walls. The four scanning modes (stud scan, deep scan, metal scan, and AC scan) make this tool ideal for both tradesmen and home carpenters. With this device, you can immediately find a suitable place on the wall without making any extra holes.
The stud locator has three stud scan modes. The Deep Scan Mode can scan through two layers of drywall up to 1.5 inches (38 mm) deep. The DeepScan Mode is a higher sensitivity scanning mode that should be used when there are extra layers of wallboard or paneling. To minimize false positives and/or finding other objects further behind the wall that may not be a stud, always start your scan in the 0.5-inch or 1-inch StudScan Mode first.
After detecting the center of an object, use the Metal Scan mode to determine if the reading in Stud Scan mode was a wood stud, metal stud, or pipe. The FOLAI wall detector can locate metal studs in StudScan mode, DeepScan mode, and Metal Scan modes.
The Wire Warning detection feature indicates the presence of live, unshielded electrical wiring up to 2 inches (51 mm) deep. For safety, this wall scanner always detects and indicates the presence of live AC wires in all modes.
To use the stud finder, first calibrate the tool by placing the entire device against the wall, then pressing and holding the calibration button until the reducing bars disappear and a beep confirms the calibration is complete. Next, scan the wall slowly, and when the signal bar is full and the beep alarm is loudest, you have found the center of an object. Mark it with a pencil, then switch to the Metal Scan mode to test whether it is a metal. If it is not a metal, you have found the center of a stud.
The FOLAI stud finder is specially designed to be the most accurate and safest stud detector, using advanced sensor technology to quickly locate metal pipes, fire lines, studs, wooden frames, steel bars, and supporting beams hidden behind walls, floors, and ceilings. Whether you're a professional, homeowner, or DIY enthusiast, this electronic stud scanner can be a valuable tool for your home projects.
