Shop / franklin sensors stud finder
Whether you're hanging pictures, installing shelves, or preparing for an addition, knowing the location of wall studs can be extremely useful. A reliable stud finder can make the difference between a successful DIY project and disaster, which is why a stud finder is an important tool.
The JAXWQ stud finder uses UPGRADED SMART SENSORS that can detect changes in wall density to accurately locate stud centers. This avoids the need to drill numerous erroneous holes when mounting TVs, shelves, coat hooks, and more on drywall.
To use the AC scan mode, first place the tool in the air and press the ON/OFF button to turn it on, then select the AC or Metal mode. Press the Calibrate Button and wait for the decreasing bars to disappear and the buzzer to beep, indicating the calibration is complete. Place the entire device against the wall and slowly slide it across the surface. Mark the location with the strongest AC indication (most middle bars on the screen). If a strong target is detected, the top arrow will light up and a steady beep will sound. Reverse direction and mark the spot where the display bars peak; the midpoint between the two marks is the live AC wiring center. If the unit detects live electricity over a large area, reduce the sensitivity to refine the scanning area and more precisely locate the live AC wiring.
This stud locator has three scan modes: StudScan, DeepScan, and Metal Scan. DeepScan is a higher-sensitivity mode for walls with extra layers. Always start with the 0.5in. or 1in. StudScan Mode to minimize false positives. After detecting the center of an object, use Metal Scan to determine if it's a wood stud, metal stud, or pipe.
The JAXWQ wall detector can locate metal studs in all scan modes, as it detects changes in density, not a specific material. Wire Warning detection indicates the presence of live, unshielded electrical wiring up to 2 inches deep, for safety in all modes.
To use the Stud mode, calibrate the tool before each scan by placing it against the wall and pressing the calibration button. Release the button and slowly move the stud finder along the wall. When the signal bar is full and the beep is loudest, you've found the center of an object. Mark it, then use Metal Scan to confirm it's not metal, indicating you've found a stud center.
Over the years, JAXWQ has continuously improved this product, incorporating the latest technology to enhance accuracy and reliability based on customer feedback. This stud finder is an ideal gift for professionals, homeowners, and DIY enthusiasts, providing fast, accurate detection of studs, metal, and live wires to make any job more efficient and safe.
